30 Tips for Universal Epic Universe
Universal Epic Universe is now open and it has changed the theme park game - forever. To ensure you make the absolute most of your visit and navigate this incredible new theme park like a pro, I’ve gathered some top tips and tricks that will make your day run smoothly.
General Epic Universe Tips 2025
No one wants their Epic Universe day to be anything less than…EPIC! A little planning goes a long way. You’re already ahead of the game by being here, so let’s get into some helpful Epic Universe Orlando tips.
Early Park Admission: Like Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, and Volcano Bay - Early Park Admission is offered at Epic Universe on select days. This is a HUGE perk for Universal hotel guests to get into the park (and ride popular attractions) 1 hour before it officially opens.
Beat the Heat and Stay Hydrated: Orlando sunshine is no joke, and while new trees are growing, shade can be limited, especially in Celestial Park. Arm yourself with a UV umbrella and your favorite sunglasses to stay comfortable. You'll be happy to know that ride queues are mostly shaded and even feature fans and water fountains. Hydration is key!
Facial ID for Effortless Entry: Set up your facial ID in the Universal Orlando app before you arrive. This tech will be your key to the park, lockers, and express pass (if you purchase it).
Strategize Your Meals: Epic Universe will be packed with amazing dining options, but popularity means lines. To avoid the busiest times, plan to eat at off-peak hours. For quick-service spots like Pizza Moon, consider mobile ordering ahead of time – sometimes you'll even need to wait for a table during peak periods.
Merchandise Made Easy: Spotted the perfect souvenir but don't want to carry it all day? If you're staying at a Universal Orlando hotel (and not checking out the next day), take advantage of free merchandise delivery right to your room. If you're heading home, shipping options are available for a fee.
Restroom Refresh: While most restrooms have Dyson air dryers, it's good to know that almost every bathroom also has at least one paper towel dispenser, often conveniently located near the family changing area.
Discover Hidden Passages: Each of Epic Universe's incredible worlds features a grand, themed portal entrance that will take your breath away. But here's a secret: every world also has a less-obvious side entrance/exit. Knowing about these can be a lifesaver for avoiding crowds during busy periods!
Be Prepared for Rain: Remember you are in Florida where the chances of rain are likely! Bring your own poncho or umbrella from home to save money. You might want to target the outdoor rides in the morning in case the afternoon storms roll in since they will shut down in inclimate weather.

Super Nintendo World Tips
Get ready to power up and jump into the vibrant, interactive world of Super Nintendo World!
Accessible Adventures for Everyone: Universal is committed to inclusivity! For guests who prefer not to use escalators or stairs, elevators are available behind the warp pipe at the main entrance, ensuring everyone can experience that iconic warp pipe moment. There's also an alternate ground-level entrance to the right of the main portal, leading directly to Yoshi's Adventure and Toadstool Cafe.
Master Your Power-Up Band: Your Power-Up Band is your key to unlocking endless fun! Remember to hit interactive blocks with your fist, not the band itself, to keep it in tip-top shape. Good news for Universal park hoppers: bands from Universal Studios Hollywood or Japan can be connected to your Orlando app and used here too! If you like a physical guide, paper maps showing Power-Up Band locations are available at the One-Up Factory.
Mario Kart VR: On Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, you'll don a VR headset for an immersive ride experience. In Orlando, you'll have the handy option to adjust your headset for the perfect fit before the pre-show begins, ensuring optimal comfort and vision.
Celestial Park Tips
Celestial Park is putting the “park” back in “theme parks.” These tips will help make the most of your experience in Celestial Park.
Cosmos Fountain: Don't miss the breathtaking Cosmos Fountain show, a delightful 2-minute display that erupts every half hour. Each show is themed to one of the five Epic Universe worlds, and for a grand finale, all five shows play consecutively at the end of the night – a perfect way to cap off your day.
Fuel Up at Starbucks: Need a coffee fix or a quick bite? Epic Universe boasts two Starbucks locations. The one near the Dark Universe portal might offer shorter lines, so keep an eye out! Both locations serve breakfast, drinks, and accept annual passholder discounts. Pro-tip: Keep your receipt if you buy a Starbucks mug! If it breaks during your park day, they'll replace it for you.
Dark Universe Tips
Step into the world of Universal monsters!
Frankenstein's Manor: As you explore the eerie grounds of Frankenstein's Manor, keep your eyes peeled! The manor will occasionally appear to be "struck by lightning" with an electrifying power surge effect.
Burning Blade Tavern: Grab a drink at the rustic Burning Blade Tavern, but don't get too comfortable – the tavern itself will "burst into flames" every 15 minutes! This impressive effect is visible even during the day.
Monster Makeup & ID Check: Planning to embrace your inner monster at the Monster Makeup Experience? It's an awesome transformation, but be aware: if you get the monster makeup done, you won't be able to purchase alcohol in the park for the rest of the day. This is due to ID verification challenges with your new, monstrous look!
Monster’s Unchained Single Rider Line: If you don’t mind your party being split up, the single rider line for this attraction is great. It skips the pre-show (if you don’t mind missing it) and has its own set of single-rider lockers. It can get you on the attraction much quicker.
How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk Tips
Soar into the Viking world of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk! Prepare for adventures alongside Hiccup, Toothless, and all their friends.
Fyre Drill: Prepare to get wet on Fyre Drill ride! Other boats can shoot water at you, and targets will spray back, so you will get wet. If you prefer to stay a bit drier, consider riding when it's a walk-on, perhaps towards the end of the night.
Toothless Meet and Greet: Meeting Toothless is a dream come true for many, and this will likely be one of the longest waits in the land. If it's a top priority for you, consider rope-dropping it right at park opening, as Express Pass is not accepted for this experience.
Mobile Order Mac & Cheese Cones: Have you seen the viral mac & cheese cones in Isle of Berk? If the line is too long at Hooligans Grog & Gruel, you can mobile order this delicious snack from Spit Fyre Grill.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic Tips
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry: This will by far be the longest wait during your Epic Universe day! We have seen this ride at a 6 HOUR WAIT!! My tip is to either be one of the very first people at the park gates in the morning OR wait until later in the day. At rope drop, everyone will go here first but later in the day we have been seeing the wait times significantly drop from 300+ minutes to 150 and less.
Post-Ride Photo Opportunities: The ride thoughtfully exits back into the main Ministry atrium area, giving you another fantastic opportunity for photos if you missed them on your way in.
Exclusive Wands: Keep an eye out for exclusive three-sided box wands at Epic Universe (can find them in Cosme Acajor) – a unique souvenir! These are first-generation wands. Don't worry, second-generation interactive wands are also available, though they come in regular boxes.
A Tiny, Hidden Animatronic: For a charming detail, look for a very small animatronic peeking out from a window across the street from the Battle at the Ministry entrance. It's a delightful little surprise!
Motion Sickness Considerations: With its many screens and immersive effects, the Ministry ride may cause motion sickness for some guests. If you're prone to it, consider bringing motion sickness bands or Dramamine. This ride is way less intense than Forbidden Journey in Islands of Adventure, but it's always good to be prepared.
Universal Express Pass & Hotel Benefits: Know Before You Go
Understanding how Express Pass works with Epic Universe is vital for planning your stay.
Express Pass Nuances: While staying at certain Universal Orlando hotels (Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort, or Portofino Bay) grants you Universal Express Unlimited, it's crucial to note that this benefit is NOT valid at Epic Universe. It only applies to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
Other Hotel Stays: Guests at Helios Grand Hotel and Sapphire Falls do NOT receive Express Pass benefits for any Universal park.
Stardust Racers: Prepare to fly through the cosmos on Stardust Racers, a thrilling dueling coaster. If you have an Express Pass, it's valid for only one of the tracks; you'll need to use the standby line for the other if you want to experience both. Also, this ride is incredible at night - expect wait times to significantly increase once the sun goes down.
Single-Use Express Pass: if a ride breaks down for an extended period while you are in line, you may be given a single use express pass to use on another ride (or come back to that attraction later in the day). If this happens on Battle at the Ministry or Mine Cart Madness, you will be given a black express pass. This is like the golden ticket of Epic Universe because you can use it on these 2 attractions that don’t accept the regular express pass!
Smart Booking Tips
Looking to save a bit on your Epic Universe adventure?
Discounted Tickets: Book your tickets or vacation packages through TheParkProdigy.com and use promo codes "TheKrystalPalace10" at check out or if your order is over $800, you can use code "TheKrystalPalace30" to save even more money! The Park Prodigy will help you plan your whole vacation - hassle-free and no additional costs!
Avoid Weekends / Peak Seasons: Holidays, weekends, spring break are all going to be more expensive (and more crowded). Take a look at the ticket prices. When tickets are less expensive, it typically means there will be lower crowds.
